More Attractions Around Accommodation On Mornington Peninsula

29 October 2012, Posted by Tony Sheer

Have you previously been put off booking accommodation on Mornington Peninsula because you want more options to spend your holiday other than the beach? If so, you might be surprised to learn that the Peninsula actually offers much more in the way of attractions for you and your family to enjoy.

Cape Shanck Lighthouse

Right on the tip of the Peninsula, you will find the Cape Schanck Lighthouse and adjoining grounds. Take a tour of the lighthouse and the museum, or pack a picnic lunch and stroll around the property or along one of the many walks that the grounds feature. The owners also provide accommodation in one of the old lighthouse keeper’s cottages.

Enchanted Maze Garden
When choosing accommodation on the Peninsula around the Arthurs Seat area, you have to pay a visit to the Enchanted Maze Garden. Featuring a number of mazes (including the newest addition, a 3D one), tube slides and stunning gardens, you really could spend the whole day exploring everything that this location has to offer.

Mornington Railway
If you will be in the area on one of the first three Sundays of the month, you should take the opportunity to visit the heritage railway. With both steam and diesel engines on offer, you can take a ride in one of these old passenger cars or take a tour of the site if you are a railway enthusiast.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways that you can spend your day when choosing accommodation on Mornington Peninsula apart from lazing around on the beach (although there is nothing wrong with doing this either!). All you have to do is research all of the attractions around.
