If you are in the process of booking in a holiday over the upcoming summer holidays, the Capeschanck Lighthouse is definitely a location that you should consider. Not only will you be able to immerse yourself in the history and stunning views of the grounds, you will be able to use the lighthouse as your base for exploring all that the Mornington Peninsula has to offer.
- Accommodation: You are able to stay right on the lighthouse grounds, in one of the historic keeper’s cottages. There are two 3 bedroom cottages, one single bedroom cottage and a motel style room (situated off the verandah of the main cottage).
- Grounds: The Capeschanck Lighthouse grounds are positively stunning at any time of the year; there are picnic tables and BBQs scattered around for your enjoyment, not to mention the numerous walks that take you around the cliffs of the grounds.
- Tours: During your stay, you should partake in one of the lighthouse and museum tours, which are conducted daily (between 10am and 4pm). You can hear about the workings of the station, and the viewing platforms are a great place for some whale spotting.
And if you would like a break from the excitement contained within the grounds, the Capeschanck Lighthouse is only a short drive from many of the other attractions of the Mornington Peninsula, including: the Moonlight Sanctuary, the Peninsula Hot Springs, golf courses, swimming with the dolphins and a multitude of award winning wineries. So, where are you spending your next holiday?
