The Inspector used to come down to the Lighthouse unannounced with his own key to this room to go over the lighthouse keepers record books,  if he didn’t like the way the books were kept and recorded he had the power to fire and rehire the staff. The lighthouse Keeper and his Wife would look after him during his stay. They were always pleased to see the back of him going up Cape Schanck Road, he was a most unpopular person. This room has its own separate entrance off the main verandah, inside you have a queen size bed T.V. coffee and tea facilities, comfortable heating and cooling, its own ensuite, and a Microwave Kettle and Toaster but not full cooking facilities. This room is attached to the 1859 Head keepers Limestone cottage. A two minute walk and you are gazing over Bass Straight at one of two look outs
